NEW HAVEN POLICE ARREST SUSPECT RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING 10 GUNS ON THE STREET

(10/18/2007) NEW HAVEN- Last week, New Haven Police arrested 30-year-old Jason Toles of 9 Eldert Street in New Haven on numerous weapon charges. Toles was arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from an investigation initiated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the New Haven Police Department's Firearms Unit for his illegal sale of firearms.

The investigation into Toles firearms purchasing activity revealed that Toles legally purchased a number of firearms throughout the state utilizing his Connecticut pistol permit then proceeded to resell the firearms on the streets of New Haven. Toles was arrested on 10 counts of Illegal Sale/Transfer of a Pistol, Aiding and Abetting, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Aiding and Abetting Altercation of Firearm Identification Marks and Falsely Reporting an Incident. Toles was held on a $250,000 court set bond.
